Tianjin Teda is a Chinese football club from Tianjin . The club currently plays in the Chinese Super League , the country's top division.
history
In 1998 the association was bought up by the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area and has had the initials TEDA in the association's name ever since . This year the club also rose from the Jia League to the Super League.
Since the beginning of 2007 the club has been coached by the Slovak football veteran Jozef Jarabinský . In the first season under him, Tianjin reached fifth place in the table. After only four games in the 2008 season, Jarabinský was replaced by Zuo Shusheng.
Friendships
Tianjin Teda often cooperates with the Australian association Melbourne Victory due to a city partnership . During the break of the season, both teams hold the so-called Lord Mayor's Cup , in which they compete against each other.
