The Guangzhou R&F Football Club ( Chinese  廣州 富力 , Pinyin Guǎngzhōu Fùlì ) is a soccer club from Guangzhou in China . The club plays in the Chinese Super League , the highest league in the country. The club plays its home games at Yuexiushan Stadium .

Club history

The club was founded in 1986 as Shenyang Huayang . The club was called Shenyang Haishi from 1996 to 2003 and Shenyang Ginde FC from 2003 to 2007 . Since moving to Changsha City in 2007, the association has called itself by its current name. The club is owned by the Ginde Plastic Pipe Industry Group . So far, Changsha Ginde has not won a title. At the end of the 2008 season, the club finished eleventh; In 2009, the club reached 14th place and was thus able to just prevent relegation. The following year, he was relegated in 16th place. The return to the highest league succeeded immediately. Since then, the club has played in the country's top division again. In 2014 the qualification for the AFC Champions League was achieved for the first time with third place .
