The 2004 Chinese Super League was the first season of the Chinese top division in men's football . It opened on May 15, 2004 and ended on December 5, 2004.

Since the number of participating teams should be increased to 14 in the coming season, it was determined before the start of the season that there would be no relegated team. The first Chinese champion was Shenzhen Jianlibao .
