Daniel Nannskog (born May 22, 1974 in Helsingborg ) is a Swedish former football player . The striker , who played part of his career in China and Norway, played for the Swedish national team between 2007 and 2009 . When he attacked Stabæk Fotball , he was two top scorer in the Norwegian Tippeligaen .
Career
Early years and years in the second division
Nannskog played at Högaborgs BK when he was young . For the club he made his debut in the men's division and managed with the team the championship in the fourth division Division 3 Södra Götaland . He drew attention to himself in a higher class and moved to Malmö FF in the Allsvenskan for the 1996 season . At the club from Skåne , however, he missed the breakthrough and moved to the second-rate Division 1 after only one season .
Nannskog signed a two-year contract with multiple national champions Djurgårdens IF . With the Stockholm club, where he ran alongside players like Kaj Eskelinen or Magnus Pehrsson , Nannskog played for a return to the Allsvenskan. In his first year he reached the runner- up title with the team behind local rivals Hammarby IF , but failed in the subsequent relegation games to Östers IF from Växjö . In the following year, the club, which was supplemented by the later national players Sharbel Touma and Mikael Dorsin, rose again as the second division champions. Although he was the club's third-best scorer with eight goals this season behind Fredrik Dahlström and Lucas Nilsson , he left the club at the end of the season and moved within the league to Assyriska FF , where he signed a one-year contract.
Under the direction of the German coach Peter Antoine , Nannskog, who scored seven goals this season, played again with his new employer for promotion to the Allsvenskan. Only in the last games of the season did the team miss the direct qualification for the Allsvenskan and had to be content with participating in the relegation as runner-up behind GIF Sundsvall . There the team failed after a 1-1 draw with a 2-1 defeat after extra time to Örebro SK .
Then Nannskog went for one season to league competitor IF Sylvia , who had qualified for the single-track Superettan as last year's third in the northern season of the second division. With the team from Norrköping he was able to establish himself in the new league and reached a midfield position in the final table of the second division season 2000 .
Promotion, abroad and national team
For the second division season 2001 Nannskog Landskrona joined BoIS . With 21 goals this season he was the top scorer and led the team to second place behind Kalmar FF , which entitled to direct promotion. In the following first division season he was able to shine as a regular goalscorer and contributed with eleven goals to the relegation of the club in the Allsvenskan.
In the summer of 2003, Nannskog decided to leave Landskrona BoIS and moved to Sichuan Guancheng in China in mid-August . At the club playing in the Chinese Super League , he signed a two and a half year contract. In his first season in Asia he led his club to eighth place in the table with eight goals this season, and in the following year he reached ninth place with nine goals.
In 2005 Nannskog returned to Europe and went to the Norwegian club Stabæk Fotball , which competed in the second-rate Adeccoligaen . With 27 goals in 29 league games, he sat at the top of the scorers list of the second Norwegian league and led the team to promotion to the Tippeligaen . He was able to take part in this series of successes in the Norwegian House of Lords and was the league's top scorer with 19 goals this season in front of his teammate Veigar Páll Gunnarsson . Although the team missed qualifying for the European Cup as fifth in the table , he nevertheless decided to extend his contract with the club.
Thanks to his steady goal successes, Nannskog also played his way into the notebook of national coach Lars Lagerbäck . On the occasion of an American tour of the Swedish national team, he made his debut on January 14, 2007 in the 2-0 defeat against Venezuela in a country selection consisting of players from the Northern European leagues. On January 21, 2007, he scored his first international goal in a 1-1 draw against Ecuador . Nevertheless, he could not establish himself in the selection team.
Nannskog continued the success with his club. Behind Brann Bergen he was runner-up in the 2007 season and he also finished second in the goalscorer list with 19 goals this season behind Thorstein Helstad , who scored 22 goals. The following spring, he was named best foreign player by the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet . In the following season he was able to surpass these successes and became Norwegian national champions with the club. In addition, with 16 goals this season, he placed himself at the top of the scorers list for the second time in his career, ahead of his compatriot Johan Andersson, and then received the Kniksenprisen as Norway's best striker.
In February 2009, Lagerbäck enabled him to return to the national team. He crowned his comeback in the 2: 3 defeat against the US national team with the goal to make it 1: 2. A month later he was able to celebrate his first title win of the year with the superfinal with a 3-1 win over Vålerenga IF , in which he scored the 1-0 intermediate result . The following season was mixed for the club, but also due to his 15 goals this season, with which he again placed among the top scorer of the Tippeligaen, he reached third place with the team.
After minor injuries, Nannskog only made eleven appearances and five goals this season at the beginning of the 2010 season. At the beginning of August he suffered a serious muscle injury, so that he was expected to be out until the end of the season. After there was no improvement by the end of the season, he decided to end his active career shortly after the end of the season at the end of November. The best foreign striker in the history of the Tippeligaen to date, however, remained loyal to his Norwegian employer and took over the coaching position of the reserve team, while he also looks after the strikers of the first division team as a special coach.
