Controversy

On September 28, there were at play Beijing Guoan against Wuhan Guanggu to blows between Wuhan defender Li Weifeng and Beijing's Lu Jiang . Subsequently, on October 1, both were suspended from eight games by the Chinese Football Association (CFA) and fined ¥ 8,000 . Wuhan's management considered this punishment to be inappropriate and threatened to pull out of the ongoing competition. Since the CFA was not willing to negotiate, however, Wuhan actually decided to withdraw from the ongoing competition on October 7th and had to pay a further fine of 300,000 yen to the Chinese association. Then all games with participation from Wuhan were rated 0: 3 and the club was excluded from all competitions of the CFA.
