Li Jinyu ( Chinese : 李金羽; Pinyin : Lǐ Jīnyǔ; born July 6, 1977 in Shenyang ) is one of the most popular Chinese football players and played for Shandong Luneng Taishan in the Chinese Super League until 2010 .

Career

His first football club was Liaoning Yuandong (then: Liaoning Tianlun ). He was considered extremely talented and moved to France in the summer of 1998 in Ligue 1 to AS Nancy . After only half a year and only six goalless appearances, he ended the interlude and switched back to Liaoning Yuandong (until 2000: Liaoning Fushun ). For Liaoning he scored 46 goals in 100 games in 5 seasons (until 2003). Since the 2004 season he has been in the service of Shandong Luneng Taishan , for whom he has scored over 60 goals in more than 100 games. With Shandong he was twice champion and cup winner, as well as top scorer. He wore the number 29 on his shirt. Jinyu ended his active career in 2010.

National team

He played his first international tournament in 1997 with the Junior World Championships in Malaysia . At the same time he was also in the men's national team , with which he took part in the 2004 Asian Cup and for which - with the exception of the 1999 and 2007 seasons - he has so far played 71 games (26 goals). In 1999 and for the 2007 Asian Cup , he was eliminated from the squad due to poor form. He has not been nominated for an international game since 2008.
