The 2003/04 season was the first season of the Elite Ice Hockey League , the highest British ice hockey division . mode

In the regular season, each of the eight teams played a total of 56 games. The first place became British Champion. The six best-placed teams qualified for the playoff intermediate round, in which they were divided into two groups of three teams each. There the teams met against each group opponent in the first and second leg, whereupon the two first-placed in each group qualified for the playoff semifinals. For a win after regular time and after overtime each team received two points, for a draw and a defeat after overtime one point and for a defeat after normal time zero points.
