The 2004/05 season was the second season of the Elite Ice Hockey League , the highest British ice hockey league . First of the regular season and thus British champions were the Coventry Blaze , which also prevailed in the playoffs.

In the regular season, each of the seven teams played a total of 50 games, including 14 in the Crossover League against the teams of the British National League , which were also included in the EIHL rating. The first place became British Champion. The six best-placed teams qualified for the playoff intermediate round, in which they were divided into two groups of three teams each. There the teams met against each group opponent in four games, whereupon the first two places in each group qualified for the playoff semifinals. For a win after regular time and after overtime, each team received two points, for a draw and a defeat after overtime one point and for a defeat after regular time zero points.
