The 2004/05 season was the ninth and final season of the British National League , the second highest British ice hockey division . The champions became the Dundee Stars .

Since the league was not continued, the teams decided to switch to other leagues. The Newcastle Vipers and Edinburgh Capitals started the next season in the first-class Elite Ice Hockey League , the Scottish representatives Dundee Stars and Fife Flyers moved to the regional Scottish National League and the Bracknell Bees, the Guildford Flames and the Hull Stingrays joined the English Premier Ice Hockey League , which became the new second division.
