The 2002/03 season was the seventh and final season of the Ice Hockey Superleague , the highest British ice hockey division . British champions became the Belfast Giants , who prevailed in the playoffs. The Sheffield Steelers became the regular season champions . For the 2003/04 season the league was replaced by the Elite Ice Hockey League .

In the regular season, each of the five teams played a total of 32 games. The first place became the regular season champion. All five teams qualified for the playoff intermediate round, in which each team played four times against each opponent. The four best-placed teams in the intermediate round qualified for the playoff semi-finals. The playoff winner became British champions. For a win after regular playing time and a win after overtime each team received two points, for a draw and a defeat after overtime one point and for a defeat after normal playing time zero points.
