Evan Mosey (born March 17, 1989 in Downers Grove , Illinois ) is a British - American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Herning Blue Fox in the Danish Metal Ligaen since 2018 .
Career
Evan Mosey, who from a village in the vicinity of Chicago native, began his career as a hockey player with the Chicago Force in the CSHL, a local junior league. After stints at Chicago Mission and Tulsa Rampage, he played for Wenatchee Wild in the North American Hockey League in 2008/09 . During his studies at Minnesota State University, Mankato was on the ice from 2009 to 2013 for their team, the Minnesota Mavericks, in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In 2011, 2012 and 2013 he was elected to the WCHA's all-academic team. He then moved to Europe, where he initially played for the Belgians from HYC Herentals in the Dutch honor division . From 2014 to 2016 he played for the Nottingham Panthers in the British Elite Ice Hockey League and won the Playoffs and the Challenge Cup of the EIHL with the club in 2016. After this success he returned to the United States and signed a contract with the AHL club Rockford IceHogs. It is also used by their Indy Fuel farm team in the ECHL . However, he only stayed in the US for a year before returning to Nottingham in 2017. Since 2018 he has been playing for the Herning Blue Fox in the Danish Metal Ligaen .
International
Mosey, who has both British and US citizenship, played for Great Britain in Division I for the first time at the 2016 World Cup . He also played there in 2017 and achieved the best plus / minus balance of the tournament. In 2017, together with his compatriots Colin Shields and Robert Dowd as well as the Croatian Borna Rendulić, he was the second best scorer behind the Japanese Daisuke Obara .
