Zack Phillips (born October 28, 1992 in Fredericton , New Brunswick ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Toledo Walleye in the ECHL since August 2019 .

Career

Phillips was selected in the 2008 entry draft of the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec (LHJMQ) in the second round in 34th position by the Lewiston MAINEiacs . Then visited the Center , the Lawrence Academy and was a season for the ice hockey team active. Before the start of the 2009/10 season , Phillips was given over to the Saint John Sea Dogs by the MAINEiacs after an exchange deal . In the following two years he won the Coupe du Président and the Memorial Cup 2011 with the Sea Dogs . In his second LHJMQ season , he was the second best scorer in Saint Johns behind Jonathan Huberdeau and the sixth best scorer in the entire league.

At the 2011 Entry Draft of the National Hockey League (NHL), Zack Phillips was selected in the first round as the 28th player from the Minnesota Wild . As a result, the offensive player completed two games for the Wild in the preparation for the NHL season 2011/12 . He was then sent back to the Saint John Sea Dogs in the Québec Major Junior Hockey League for his further development. On December 19, 2011, he signed an entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild. In the LHJMQ season 2011/12 , Zack Phillips won the Coupe du Président with the Sea Dogs, as in the previous season.

For the 2012/13 AHL season , Phillips moved to the Houston Eros , the Wild's farm team, in the American Hockey League . The Eros, as since 2013 Iowa Wild firmierten, the Canadians completed nearly 200 AHL games, before he in March 2015 in exchange for Jared Knight of the Boston Bruins has been transferred and subsequently for their farm team, the Providence Bruins , aground .

A year later, in early March 2016, the Bruins gave him to the St. Louis Blues , who also use him in the AHL with the Chicago Wolves .
