The Memorial Cup 2012 was the 94th edition of the tournament of the same name , the final tournament of the Canadian Hockey League . Participating teams were the champions of their respective leagues, the London Knights ( Ontario Hockey League ), the Saint John Sea Dogs ( Québec Major Junior Hockey League ), the Edmonton Oil Kings ( Western Hockey League ) and, automatically qualified as hosts, the Shawinigan Cataractes ( Québec Major Junior Hockey League). The tournament took place May 18-27 at the Center Bionest de Shawinigan in Shawinigan , Québec .
The Shawinigan Cataractes won their first Memorial Cup after beating the London Knights in the final.
Applications
The Shawinigan Cataractes prevailed against the candidacies of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles , Halifax Mooseheads and Saint John Sea Dogs in their bid to host the tournament .
