Memorial Cup 1919

The 1919 Memorial Cup was the first to host the tournament of the same name . The participating teams were the Ontario Hockey Association champions , the University of Toronto Schools team , the Varsity Blues , and the winning team of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League , the Regina Patricias . The tournament mode provided for two games in which the winner was determined solely on the basis of the goals scored.

The Varsity Blues won the first Memorial Cup after two games with 29-8 goals. The tournament was held in Toronto .

Memorial Cup Winner

The University of Toronto team consisted of Jack Aggett , Donald Gunn , Steve Greey , Don Jeffrey , Richard Kearns , Dunc Munro , Langton Rowell and Joe Sullivan . The manager of the team was RW Baker, the team was coached by Frank Carroll .
