The Memorial Cup 2002 was the 84th edition of the tournament of the same name . Participating teams were the champions of their respective leagues, the Erie Otters ( Ontario Hockey League ), the Victoriaville Tigres ( Québec Major Junior Hockey League ), the Kootenay Ice ( Western Hockey League ) and the Guelph Storm from the Ontario Hockey League, which automatically qualified as hosts . The tournament was held May 18-26 in Guelph , Ontario .

The Kootenay Ice won their first Memorial Cup by beating the Victoriaville Tigres in the final.
