The 2015 Memorial Cup was the 97th edition of the tournament of the same name , the final tournament of the Canadian Hockey League . Participating teams were the champions of their respective leagues, the Oshawa Generals ( Ontario Hockey League ), the Océanic de Rimouski ( Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec ) and the Kelowna Rockets ( Western Hockey League ). The Remparts de Québec (Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec) were automatically qualified as hosts. The tournament took place from May 22nd to 31st at the Colisée Pepsi in Québec City , Québec .

The Oshawa Generals won their fifth Memorial Cup with their final victory over the Kelowna Rockets.

Applications

The Remparts de Québec prevailed against the candidacy of the Saguenéens de Chicoutimi in their application to host the tournament .

Semi-final qualification

Since the Kelowna Rockets, the Océanic de Rimouski and the Remparts de Québec ended the preliminary round with the same number of points ( there was no additional point for defeats after overtime ), a newly introduced procedure was used to determine the semi-final pairing: This was made from the statistics of all three teams The respective game against the Oshawa Generals is deducted and the quotient of goals scored and goals scored, added with goals conceded, is determined. Kelowna won this comparison with 0.59 (10 / [10 + 7]) and was therefore set for the semifinals. The second semi-final participant was determined with a playoff, which the Remparts de Québec won:
