The 2014/15 WHL season was the 49th season of the Western Hockey League . The regular season began on September 19, 2014 and ended on March 22, 2015. The Brandon Wheat Kings won the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as the team with the highest points in the preliminary round . The play-offs began on March 26, 2015 and ended with the fourth Ed Chynoweth Cup win of the Kelowna Rockets on May 13, 2015, who prevailed in the final series with a sweep against the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Changes

In the 2014/15 season, the Western Hockey League took over the playoff mode introduced in the previous season in the National Hockey League , with two wild card teams per conference.
