Four Broncos Memorial Trophy

The Four Broncos Memorial Trophy is an award from the Western Hockey League . It has been awarded annually to the best player of the year since the end of the 1994/95 season. Until the 1993/94 season he was awarded to the Most Valuable Player of the WHL. The trophy winner has also participated in the election for CHL Player of the Year since 1975 .

The award owes its name to four Swift Current Broncos players who were killed in a bus accident on their way to the game against the Regina Pats . Trent Kresse, Scott Kruger, Chris Mantyka and Brent Ruff died on December 30, 1986.
