The 2009/10 WHL season was the 44th season of the Western Hockey League . The regular season began on September 17, 2009 and ended on March 14, 2010. The play-offs started on March 18, 2010 and ended with the Calgary Hitmen's second Ed Chynoweth Cup win on May 7, 2010, which is prevailed in the WHL final against the Tri-City Americans .
