Kristopher "Kris" Foucault (born December 12, 1990 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with ERC Ingolstadt in the German Ice Hockey League since 2019 .

career

Foucault played in his junior years in the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the Swift Current Broncos , Kootenay Ice and in his hometown for the Calgary Hitmen . He was selected by Minnesota Wild in the fourth round in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Draft .

In 2009/10 he won the WHL championship with the Hitmen. In the 2010/11 season he came for the Hitmen in 65 missions on 25 goals and 23 assists, thus reached the best value within the team. In May 2011, Foucault put his name under a three-year contract with NHL club Minnesota Wild . During the three years he was mostly on farm teams for the Houston Eros and Iowa Wild (both American Hockey League ). He made his NHL debut on February 14, 2012 against the Anaheim Ducks .

In July 2014, Foucault signed a contract with the Austrian first division club Vienna Capitals , for which he scored 22 goals in 54 games in the 2014/15 season and was involved in assisting 25 others. He reached the final of the Austrian Ice Hockey League with the Vienna team .

For the 2015/16 season, Foucault moved to Switzerland to the ZSC Lions . During the season he wore the ZSC jersey in 16 games in the National League A (NLA) and also played twelve times for the Zurich farm team , the GC Küsnacht Lions , in the NLB. With the ZSC Lions, he won the Swiss Cup competition in February 2016.

In May 2016, the Grizzlys Wolfsburg from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) announced Foucault's commitment. He signed a two-year contract. At the end of November 2016 he suffered a serious hip injury. In the 2018/19 game year, he only made seven appearances for Lower Saxony due to a concussion. In April 2019, the ERC Ingolstadt announced Foucault's commitment.

International

With the Canadian selection, Foucault won the Spengler Cup in December 2015 .
