Dustin Friesen (born March 1, 1983 in Waldheim , Saskatchewan ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Ice Hockey League since summer 2020 .
Career
Friesen began his career in the 2000/01 season with the Swift Current Broncos in the Junior Western Hockey League . After four seasons, the defender moved to the university team at the University of New Brunswick and played there between 2004 and 2009 in the CIS .
In the 2009/10 season, the German-Canadian completed his first professional season, in which he played for the Utah Grizzlies and Idaho Steelheads in the East Coast Hockey League , as well as in eight games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the higher-class American Hockey League on the ice was standing. In the 2011/12 season, Friesen played for the Chicago Wolves in the AHL.
In the summer of 2012, the defensive player moved to Europe and was active for two seasons with the German second division club Fischtown Pinguins . Due to his good performance, the left-handed shooter recommended a move to the German Ice Hockey League and was signed by ERC Ingolstadt in the summer of 2014 , where he has been number 14 since the 2014/15 season and does not fall under the foreigner quota due to his German passport.
