The Idaho Steelheads are an American ice hockey franchise of the ECHL based in Boise , Idaho .
history
The Idaho Steelheads were founded in 1997 as a franchise of the West Coast Hockey League , in which they were active until the dissolution of the league following the 2002/03 season and in whose final series they were subject to the Fresno Falcons in the 2001/02 season . Then the team moved to some other teams in the rival East Coast Hockey League , that the championship Kelly Cup , they are in season 2003/04 with 4: 1 victories in the best-of-seven series against the Florida Everblades won . The Steelheads were able to repeat this success in the 2007 final with 4-1 victories over the Alaska Aces . In the 2008/09 season, Idaho was eliminated with a sweep in the best-of-seven series against the Victoria Salmon Kings in the first playoff round.
