The Texas Stars are an American ice hockey franchise from Cedar Park , Texas that has played in the American Hockey League since the 2009/10 season . The Texas Stars became the AHL farm team of the Dallas Stars from the National Hockey League after the collaboration with the previous farm team, the Iowa Stars , was terminated after the 2007/08 season .
The Texas Stars play their home games in the HEB Center , which holds 6,863 spectators . The hall was opened in September 2009.

In their premier season, the stars won the division title and the conference title, for which they received the Robert W. Clarke Trophy . In the final series of the Calder Cup, however, they lost in six games against the Hershey Bears . In the 2013/14 season, the team was able to secure the Calder Cup against St. John's IceCaps with a 4-1 win in a row .
