The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights were an ice hockey club from the city of Omaha in the US state of Nebraska from 2005 to 2007. The Knights were owned by the Calgary Flames and their farm team in the AHL . The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights farm team were again the Las Vegas Wranglers ( ECHL ).
The club was named after the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben , a municipal organization in Omaha. The expression "Ak-Sar-Ben" is nothing more than the reverse pronounced name of the state of Nebraska and was the name of the former cultural center of the city of Omaha. A former ice hockey team, which was already called the Omaha Knights , played its home games at Ak-Sar-Ben .
The home stadium of the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights was the Omaha Civic Auditorium .
In 2007, the franchise was relocated to Moline , Illinois .

The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights were in 2005 as a new AHL - farm team of the Calgary Flames founded. They emerged from the old franchise of the Saint John Flames , which ceased gaming in the summer of 2003, and became the No. 1 farm team for the Calgary Flames.
The 2005/06 season was the first of the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights and in this they missed the playoffs with a sixth place in their division.
2006/07 they reached the playoffs for the first time and took first place in the West Division in the regular season. In the first round of the playoffs they finally failed to the Iowa Stars .
In May 2007, the Calgary Flames announced that the franchise to the region of the Quad Cities of Moline , Illinois relocated and Quad City Flames will be renamed.
