The Richmond Robins were an American ice hockey franchise of the American Hockey League based in Richmond , Virginia .

history

The As de Québec were relocated to Richmond , Virginia in 1971 , where they played under the name Richmond Robins as the farm team of the Philadelphia Flyers from the National Hockey League in the American Hockey League . After they still missed the playoffs in their first AHL season, they were eliminated three times in the first playoff round in the following years. The best result of the season for the Robins was reaching the second playoff round, in which they were defeated by the Hershey Bears 1: 4, against which they were eliminated in the first round in the previous season. Following the 1975/76 season, the Philadelphia Flyers decided to disband their farm team.
