history
The Nova Scotia Voyageurs were moved to Sherbrooke , Québec , in 1984 , where they played as a farm team for the Montréal Canadiens under the name Canadiens de Sherbrooke in the American Hockey League . In their first season, the team won the Calder Cup in the 1984/85 season , when they beat the Baltimore Skipjacks 4-2 in the finals. After Sherbrooke missed the playoffs the following year, the Canadiens reached the playoff final again in the 1986/87 season , in which they were defeated by the Rochester Americans with a 3: 4 victory. In the following three years, the Canadians were eliminated twice in the first and once in the second round of play-offs before the Sherbrooke Canadiens were relocated to Fredericton , New Brunswick in 1990 , where they were henceforth active as Fredericton Canadiens in the AHL.
