The Cape Breton Oilers were a Canadian ice hockey franchise of the American Hockey League from Sydney in the province of Nova Scotia . The venue for the Cape Breton Oilers was Center 200 .
history
The Cape Breton Oilers were founded in 1988 as the new farm team of the Edmonton Oilers from the National Hockey League . They were the successors to the Nova Scotia Oilers . The team adopted both a similar logo and kit design from Edmonton. The team's greatest achievement was winning the Calder Cup in the 1992/93 season . In the playoffs, the Oilers player Bill McDougall achieved a record in professional ice hockey with 52 points in 16 games (including 26 goals).
In 1996 the team after eight years was in the AHL for Hamilton in the province of Ontario moved in and Hamilton Bulldogs renamed.
