The 2003/04 season was the 68th regular season of the American Hockey League (AHL). The 28 teams played 80 games each in the regular season.
In the AHL there was a change from a system with six divisions to a system with four divisions in two conferences. The Eastern Conference consists of the Atlantic Division and the East Division, while the Western Conference consists of the North Division and the West Division. The Milwaukee Admirals finished the regular season first and eventually won the playoffs for the Calder Cup against the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Saint John Flames were inactive, the merger of the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Quebec citadels was dissolved again and served from now on as the farm team of the Montreal Canadiens , while the farm team of the Edmonton Oilers as Toronto Roadrunners again took up the game operation in the North Division.
