The 2003/04 season was the 68th regular season of the American Hockey League (AHL). The 28 teams played 80 games each in the regular season.

In the AHL there was a change from a system with six divisions to a system with four divisions in two conferences. The Eastern Conference consists of the Atlantic Division and the East Division, while the Western Conference consists of the North Division and the West Division. The Milwaukee Admirals finished the regular season first and eventually won the playoffs for the Calder Cup against the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins .
