The 2003/04 season was the 13th regular season of the United Hockey League (until 1997 Colonial Hockey League ). The twelve teams were supposed to play 76 games each in the regular season , but the schedule had to be changed due to the early, financially-related departure of the Columbus Stars . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Fort Wayne Komets , while the Muskegon Fury won the Colonial Cup for the third time in the play-offs .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Columbus Stars were accepted into the league as an expansion team and stopped playing again during the season.
- The Richmond RiverDogs were added to the league as an expansion team.
