The Missouri River Otters were an American ice hockey team from Saint Charles , Missouri . The team played in the United Hockey League from 1999 to 2006 .
history
The team was founded in 1999 as a franchise of the United Hockey League was founded. The greatest success in the seven years of its existence was reaching the second round of the playoffs for the Colonial Cup in the 2000/01 season. After a walk-through, the River Otters with one left: 3 wins series best-of-five against the Fort Wayne Komets from. In the other seasons, the team never got past the first round. During the 2004/05 season, the team benefited from the lockout from the National Hockey League and was able to sign the experienced NHL players Barret Jackman , Ryan Johnson , Jamal Mayers , Jim Montgomery , Bryce Salvador and Curtis Sanford . Towards the end of the following season, the former NHL professional Jeff Brown also took over the coaching position with the River Otters.
