The New Haven Knights were an American ice hockey team from New Haven , Connecticut . The team played in the United Hockey League from 2000 to 2002 .

history

The team was founded in 2000 as a franchise of the United Hockey League was founded. In their first season, the Knights finished second in the Southeast Division. In the subsequent playoffs for the Colonial Cup, after a bye and a 3-2 win in the best-of-five series over the Adirondack IceHawks, they were only eliminated in round three with a sweep in the best-of-five series the Asheville Smoke , which failed in the final at the Quad City Mallards . After a first round in the 2001/02 season against the later finalist Elmira Jackals , the franchise was dissolved again after only two years.
