The Port Huron Beacons were an American ice hockey team based in Port Huron , Michigan . The team played in the United Hockey League from 2002 to 2005 .

history

The team was as 2,002 franchise of the United Hockey League established and filled the void left by the Port Huron Border Cats had left by their resolution in the same year in the city and in the league. The team has always belonged to the midfield of the league in the three years of its existence. In the playoffs for the Colonial Cup , his greatest success was reaching the second round in the 2003/04 season. After a sweep in the best-of-five series against the Flint Generals , they lost to the Elmira Jackals with 2: 4 wins in the best-of-seven series.

Following the 2004/05 season, the franchise was relocated to Roanoke , Virginia , where it then took part in the game operations of the United Hockey League under the name Roanoke Valley Vipers .
