The Richmond RiverDogs were an American ice hockey team from Richmond , Virginia . The team played in the United Hockey League from 2003 to 2006 .

history

The team was founded in 2003 as a franchise of the United Hockey League was founded. In their debut season, the Richmond RiverDogs were first in the regular season in the Eastern Division, before they won in the following playoffs for the Colonial Cup in the first round with 1: 3 wins in the best-of-five series at the eventual finalist Elmira Jackals failed. In the following two years, the team missed the playoffs.

Following the 2005/06 season, the franchise was relocated to Chicago , Illinois , where it then took part in the game operations of the United Hockey League under the name Chicago Hounds .
