The Dayton Ice Bandits were an American ice hockey club based in Dayton , Ohio , and played in the Colonial Hockey League in the 1996/97 season .

history

The franchise of the London Wildcats from the Colonial Hockey League in 1996 from London , Ontario , to Dayton, Ohio, relocated and renamed Dayton Ice Bandits. In their only season, the 1996/97 season, the Ice Bandits finished fifth and last in the West Division with just 34 points in 74 games. As a result, the team missed the playoffs for the Colonial Cup.

After the Dayton Ice Bandits were inactive for a year, the franchise was relocated to Utica , New York , prior to the 1998/99 season , where it was subsequently used in the United Hockey League, such as the Colonial Hockey League, under the name Mohawk Valley Prowlers 1997 was called, participated. There they replaced the Utica Blizzard , which had been relocated to Winston-Salem a year earlier .
