The 2002/03 season was the twelfth regular season of the United Hockey League (until 1997 Colonial Hockey League ). The ten teams completed 76 matches each in the regular season . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Fort Wayne Komets , who won the Colonial Cup for the first time in the play-offs .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Asheville Smoke stopped playing.
- The BC Icemen stopped the game.
- The Knoxville Speed stopped the game.
- The New Haven Knights stopped playing.
- The Port Huron Border Cats stopped playing.
- The Port Huron Beacons were added to the league as an expansion team.
