The 2009/10 season was the 19th and last regular season of the International Hockey League ( Colonial Hockey League until 1997 , United Hockey League until 2007 ). The seven teams completed 76 games each in the regular season . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Muskegon Lumberjacks , while the Fort Wayne Komets won the Turner Cup in the play-offs . After the season, the IHL merged with the Central Hockey League , whereupon five of the seven teams from the IHL were accepted into the CHL for the 2010/11 season .
