The 2010-11 season was the 19th regular season of the Central Hockey League . The 18 teams played 66 games each in the regular season . The Central Hockey League was played in two conferences . Before the season, the CHL merged with the International Hockey League , from which five teams moved to the CHL. The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs defeated the Colorado Eagles in seven encounters in the playoff finals and won their first Ray Miron President's Cup .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Amarillo Gorillas stopped playing.
- The Corpus Christi IceRays stopped playing.
- The Bloomington Prairie Thunders from the IHL were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Dayton Gems from the IHL were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Evansville IceMen from the IHL were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Fort Wayne Komets from the IHL were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Quad City Mallards from the IHL were added to the league as an expansion team.
