The 1996/97 season was the fifth regular season of the Central Hockey League . The ten teams played 66 games each in the regular season . The Central Hockey League was played in two divisions . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Oklahoma City Blazers , while the Fort Worth Fire won the Ray Miron Cup for the first time in the play-offs .
