The 1998/99 season was the seventh regular season of the Central Hockey League . The eleven teams completed 70 encounters each in the regular season . The Central Hockey League was played in two divisions . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Oklahoma City Blazers , while the Huntsville Channel Cats won the Ray Miron Cup for the first time in the play-offs .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Nashville Ice Flyers stopped the game.
- The San Antonio Iguanas started playing again after a year break.
- The Topeka Scarecrows were added to the league as an expansion team.
