The Fayetteville Force were an American ice hockey team based in Fayetteville , North Carolina . The team played in the Central Hockey League from 1997 to 2001 .

history

The Fayetteville Force was founded in 1997 as a franchise of the Central Hockey League . After finishing fifth and last in their division in their first two seasons, the team qualified in the 1999/2000 season as winners of the Eastern Division for the first time for the playoffs for the Miron Cup , in which they played in the first round 1: 3 victories at the Macon Whoopee failed. In the following season they also lost in the first playoff round with 2: 3 wins against the Columbus Cottonmouths . Following the 2000/01 season, those responsible withdrew the franchise from the CHL's gaming operations and dissolved it.
