The El Paso Buzzards were an American ice hockey team from El Paso , Texas . The team played in the Central Hockey League from 2001 to 2003 .

history

The El Paso Buzzards were founded in 1996 as a franchise of the Western Professional Hockey League . You were one of six founding members of the WPHL, whose championship they won in 1997 and 1998, respectively. When the league merged with the Central Hockey League in 2001 , the Buzzards also joined the new league and immediately reached the playoffs for the Miron Cup in the 2001/02 season , in which they won the second after defeating the Odessa Jackalopes Round the Austin Ice Bats in the best-of-seven series with 2-4 victories. The following season ended the team in fourth and thus last place in their division and missed the playoffs, whereupon those responsible withdrew the franchise from the game operations of the CHL and dissolved.
