The Arizona Sundogs were an American ice hockey franchise from Prescott Valley , Arizona that played in the Central Hockey League , a North American minor league , between 2006 and 2014 .

history

The franchise, founded in 2006, played its home games in Tim's Toyota Center , a 5,100-seat multi-purpose hall that was built for the foundation of the Sundogs under the name Prescott Valley Convention & Events Center .

For the premiere season, Marco Pietroniro was entrusted with the management of the team. In the first CHL season in the team's history, Sundog Brent Kelly scored 42 goals and thus became the top scorer of the CHL, which meant that in the 2006/07 season, in addition to his nomination for the CHL All-Star Game, he also became an All-Star Team of the league was chosen.

The team achieved their greatest success in the 2007/08 season , in which they won the Ray Miron President's Cup . In the final, the Sundogs beat the reigning champions Colorado Eagles with a sweep in the best-of-seven series.

In August 2014, the franchise stopped gaming.
