Alex Leavitt (born January 31, 1984 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who most recently played for the Braehaed Clan in the Elite Ice Hockey League .
Career
Alex Leavitt played in his youth for two years for the college team of the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association , a league in the game operation of the NCAA , before he from 2003 to 2005 in the Canadian Junior League WHL for the Swift Current Broncos and the Everett Silvertips went on the ice. In the 2005/06 season, the center completed its first professional season in the lower class ECHL with the Alaska Aces and was the league's top scorer with 91 points . In the 2006/07 season Leavitt was used for three different teams in the ECHL and the American Hockey League . Also in the 2007/08 game year, the Canadian completed a few games for the San Antonio Rampage in the AHL, but spent the season mainly with the Arizona Sundogs from the Central Hockey League . Leavitt was the league's best assists and scorer with 88 assists and 128 scorer points in 58 games.
With the rise of the Kassel Huskies in the German Ice Hockey League for the 2008/09 season , Leavitt moved to Germany, where he signed a one-year contract with North Hesse. For the 2010/11 season Leavitt moved to the Ravensburg Towerstars in the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga , which he was able to win with the club. As the top scorer and the best preparer in the league, he himself made a significant contribution. In May 2011 Leavitt signed a contract with Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho from the Finnish SM-liiga . This season he was the top scorer on the team. After the season he moved to KHL Medveščak Zagreb in the EBEL. On November 15 he left Zagreb and returned to the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey, but this time to the Schwenninger Wild Wings . After a short interlude at IK Oskarshamn from HockeyAllsvenskan , he moved to Aalborg Pirates in October 2013 and was elected to the Metal Ligaen as top scorer in their Second All-Star Team in 2014. He then returned to Ravensburg for a year before joining the Braehead Clan in the British Elite Ice Hockey League in 2015 . There he was the best assists in the league in 2016, before ending his career in 2017.
