The IK Oskarshamn is a Swedish ice hockey team from Oskarshamn , which in since 2019 Svenska Hockey Ligan plays. The club plays its home games in the Be-Ge Hockey Center , which has a capacity of 3,275.

history

The IK Oskarshamn was created in 1970 from the merger of the ice hockey departments of the IFK Oskarshamn and the Oskarshamn AIK . The IFK ice hockey section was founded in 1947, that of the AIK only in 1953.

Between 1996 and 2003, the club went under the name Oskarshamn Eagles , but then returned to the original name.

From 2000 to 2019 the IKO belonged to the second highest Swedish professional league, HockeyAllsvenskan . In the 2018/19 season, he was promoted to the first Swedish ice hockey league, the Svenska Hockeyligan .

Home ground

The Be-Ge Hockey Center , formerly Oskarshamn's Ishall , was built in 1974 and has been used by IK Oskarshamn for their home games ever since. The total capacity of the hall was originally 2516 spectators. Since a renovation in 2004, the ice rink can accommodate 3275 spectators, with 1620 seats and 1655 standing places available. The official attendance record of 3265 was set in 2010 at a league game against Malmö Redhawks .
