Igor Sypniewski (born October 11, 1974 in Łódź , Poland ) is a former Polish football player . He played professional football in Poland, Greece and Sweden .

Career

In the club

Igor Sypniewski has long been considered one of the greatest talents in Polish football. He proved this both initially in the Polish League, later also at Panathinaikos Athens in the Greek League and in the Champions League , as well as during his time in Sweden . However, he was never able to stay with a club for long because, due to his severe depression, he constantly came into conflict with the clubs and with the law (resistance to state violence, driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, violence against his mother and partner, etc.) .). On October 9, 2008, Sypniewski was sentenced to a year and a half without parole.

In the national team

On June 19, 1999, he made his debut for the Polish national team in a friendly against New Zealand (0-0). Sypniewski completed his second and last international match on November 14, 2001 in a friendly against Cameroon (0-0).
