Johan Ryno (born June 5, 1986 in Örebro ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Färjestad BK in the Svenska Hockeyligan since April 2015 .
Career
Johan Ryno began his career in 2003 in the senior team of IFK Hallsberg in the third-class division 1. In his first season he was the best scorer of his team with nine goals and 18 assists . In the summer of 2004 he moved within the league to IFK Kumla , where he continued to develop well and increased his points yield to 38 scorer points.
Due to his good performance, he was able to recommend himself for larger tasks and was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft in the fifth round at position 137. He also received a contract with IK Oskarshamn in the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan . There, too, he quickly established himself as the second-best goalscorer and third-best scorer in the team that finished the season in midfield of the second Swedish league.
In the summer of 2006 he made the jump to the top Swedish league, the Elitserien , where he received a contract with Frölunda HC . However, he got off to a difficult start there when he remained without a point in the first 14 games of the season and was transferred back to HockeyAllsvenskan to AIK Solna , where he was largely able to build on the performance of the previous season. He returned to the Elitserien in the second half of the season and played there for Timrå IK . Ryno finally managed to finish his debut season in the first division solidly with eleven points in 25 games.
Before the start of the 2007/08 season he went to North America, where he took part in the training camp of the Detroit Red Wings and for their farm team , the Grand Rapids Griffins , in the AHL . But despite a hopeful start to the season with three goals and four assists in twelve games, he returned to Sweden in November 2007, where he was hardly noticed at Djurgårdens IF .
In the summer of 2008 he returned to the HockeyAllsvenskan and played the 2008/09 season at AIK. But only shortly after the start of the season, he suffered a setback when he broke his leg. After his return, he played the season solid, but rather inconspicuous to the end. In the promotion round to the Elitserien, he was able to shine again. The AIK missed promotion, but Ryno was his team's best scorer with nine points from nine games.
In the fall of 2009, Ryno started a new attempt to recommend himself to the Detroit Red Wings, who wanted to send him back to the farm team in the AHL after the training camp. However, he refused and then returned to the AIK in Sweden, where he stayed until 2010. Although he achieved promotion to the Elitserien with his team in the second year, he then stayed in HockeyAllsvenskan and played for his ex-club IK Oskarshamn in the 2010/11 season. Between 2011 and 2015, the Swede was on the ice for Leksands IF and rose with the team after the 2012/13 season from the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan to the Svenska Hockeyligan . In the 2014/15 season he was the team's captain before Ryno moved to Färjestad BK within the league in April 2015 .
