The 2012/13 season was the 14th season of HockeyAllsvenskan as the second highest Swedish ice hockey league .
mode
In the main round, the 14 teams play 52 games each. The four best-placed teams in HockeyAllsvenskan qualify for the Kvalserien , in which they meet the two last-placed teams in the Elitserien , whereby the two first-placed teams in the Kvalserien may play in the Elitserien in the following season. While the first three of HockeyAllsvenskan qualify directly for the Kvalserien, the teams in places 4 to 7 have to play the last Kvalserien participant among themselves in group mode, whereby they receive between one and four bonus points according to their main round placement. The last two placed in HockeyAllsvenskan must compete in the relegation round against the four best teams in Division 1 , with the top two being allowed to play in HockeyAllsvenskan in the following season.
Each team receives three points for a win after regular playing time, two points for a win after overtime or shootout, one point for a loss after overtime or shootout and zero points for a loss after normal playing time.
