The IF Troja Ljungby- is a Swedish ice hockey team from Ljungby , which since 2014 Swedish in the third-highest league, the Hockeyettan plays. The club plays its home games in Sunnerbohov , which has a capacity of 3,000.

The association was founded on March 22, 1948. In the same year, the game began in Division III, before the promotion to Division II followed in 1954. Until the late 1970s, the club remained in this league. 1976 and 1978 succeeded in promotion to Division I, which was the second division at the time. In the 1980s, the team established itself in this league, but was often eliminated early in the playoffs. In the early 1990s, the team often reached the Kval series for promotion to the Elitserien , but failed there regularly. It was not until 2005 that the club was relegated to the third-class Division I, before being promoted back to HockeyAllsvenskan in 2008 . In 2018, the relegation to the third division, now called Hockeyettan , took place again .

In addition to the first men's team, the club runs several hobby teams and junior teams of all ages.

Home ground

The Sunnerbohov ice rink was built in 1981 and has been used by IF Troja-Ljungby for its home games ever since. It has 1000 seats and 2000 standing places - the audience record, however, is 4050 spectators. This record was set on January 21, 1996 in a league game against Brynäs IF .
