Tranås AIF Hockey is a Swedish ice hockey club from Tranås . The team plays in hockeyettan .

history

Tranås AIF Hockey was originally the ice hockey department of the Tranås AIF sports club . In 1992, however, this was divided into various independent clubs, so that the ice hockey department was also outsourced. The team was first able to attract attention when they took part in the 1950 season in the Swedish championship , which was then still held in cup mode .

In the 1961/62 season , the club played in what was then the highest Swedish league, Division 1 , but was relegated to Division 2 in the first season . In the 1976/77 and 1980/81 seasons , the team started in Division 1, which was second class at that time, but both times rose immediately back to Division 2, which is now third class. Only towards the end of the 1990s could one establish oneself in the second-rate Division 1.

From 1999 to 2003 Tranås AIF Hockey took part in the new second Swedish division, HockeyAllsvenskan . Since then, the team has been able to establish itself in the now third-class Division 1, which is now called hockeyettan .
