Forshaga IF is a Swedish sports club from Forshaga founded in 1907 , which is best known for its ice hockey department .

history

The association was founded in 1907. The ice hockey department took part in the 1944/45 season , from 1948 to 1953 and from 1956 to 1962 in Division 1 , which was then the highest division in Sweden. In addition, the team appeared several times in the 1940s and 1950s in the Swedish championship, which was then still held in cup mode . From 1999 to 2001 and from 2003 to 2005 Forshaga IF played in the meanwhile third-class Division 1. After a temporary relegation, the team has returned to the third division, which is now called Hockeyettan .

The football division played in Division 4 in the 2012 season.
